Djinn's Red Mercury

this has been the longest finals i ever had in my life. sorry if i didn't upload anything of recent guys. i was feeling lagged from the finals and wanted a "long" short break before i make anything and posted. this was my final plan B piece for the final crit in jewelry. it was inspired by an arabian folklore which is popular among the commoners of middle east. the folklore goes like this. tomb raiders usually find treasures in the deserts. treasure that goes way back in the pharaonic period. but sometimes they don't know where the treasures are, or it's difficult to located their exact burial. so in order to do that. they make a trade with a djinn that lives in the desert. if you guys don't know what a djinn is, "to put it simply, they are beings made from fire, they are mostly hidden and they have supernatural powers. the people make a trade with the djinn to tell them where are the treasures located in the desert. in exchange, the people give the djinn a bottle of red mercury. it is said in the folklore that red mercury expands a djinn's life span.

the hand was sculpted from wax and then was casted in brass, the base is copper raised filled with sand and binded together with the piece by epoxy resin. the bottle is a trinket bought filled with water, clear oil and red dye.
